About Us
Meet Allison Greer
Allison has been in and about the tea world for some time now. Like so many in this industry it started with a passion for tea, the business side was hardly a consideration. The passion for tea and an interest in sharing it with other gave rise to the first local Tacoma tea house, situated in the Tacoma 6th Avenue Restaurant District.
Grandma Kitty, Allison's Irish grandmother always served tea any time family or friends appeared at her door. Allison remembers fondly the shared moments with Grandma Kitty while sipping her hot Irish Breakfast teas.
On the occasion of looking at homes for another business idea, Allison and her daughter Bridget, enter a home in the restaurant district. Both immediately conclude that the garden, nicely situated in the rear of the home and protected by the stately Russian Olive tree, was the perfect place for hot tea and contemplation. Thus, The Enchanted Tea Garden was born.
Meet Bridget Kord
Bridget, the oldest of five children, began drinking tea from as early as she can recall. Black tea with milk and sugar and cinnamon toast was the treat she remembers most from her childhood.
When the idea of running a tea house came to her it was a natural. Bridget and her mother, Allison, bought a little house in what is now the Tacoma 6th Avenue Restaurant District. It's lovely garden in the back became the inspiration for The Enchanted Tea Garden and thus began the journey of transforming this quaint little house into the first tea room in Tacoma.
After many successful years of servicing and building their faithful clientele the idea of offering a truly unique tea garden experience led to the creation of their first blended tea. More custom blends followed and soon were the favorite of customers, new and old. These winning combinations gave birth to Enchanted Teas.
Great Grandma's copper tea kettle can still be found sitting on Bridget's home stove where little daughter Charlotte is being introduced to the wonderful world of tea.
Along with husband Tracy, the two have created the beautiful packaging that recalls a simpler time reminiscent of copper tea kettle's, delightful teas and shared moments all in Great Grandmother's kitchen.
